Its main campus, Campus Reitor Joaquim Amazonas, is located in western Recife, in the \u201cCidade Universit\u00e1ria\u201d neighbourhood. Dept. of Physics is a pioneer in advances of phenomena such as Spin Seebeck effect in ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic insulators; Spin-to-charge conversion in graphene, topological insulators, and 2D semiconductors are their main research lines.
